Apparently the old app is just gone and replaced with a new one, this one. A little odd.

After playing with this app on both my iPhone and my Kindle Fire, I truly love how this app runs. Its a very good and smooth running app with lots of nifty features. Mainly news from the Central NY area, but the info is consistently updated so youre never behind. Plus the app organizes the stories in categories that are on the bottom of the screen. Just click on what you want (I.e. sports, local stories, videos, your stories, on the lookout, the real deal, weather, lotto numbers, horoscopes, etc.) and itll give you the most recent and available stories! The live Doppler radar on the iPhone is a great tool to use to check weather patterns right there. And you can even get live footage of the radar! The stories with videos actually work without any glitches or issues (only con here is sometimes itll have a small local CNY ad, usually not longer than 30 seconds). You can even get live footage from certain broadcasts in the day! The catch is some of the stories that say video but only has the channel 9 logo instead of a story photo might not have an immediate video to watch. Other great features I found enjoyable: you can change the font size (make the letters larger or smaller) of the stories youre reading for easy reading; and you can share stories you like right to your Facebook or other social media. Cons: besides the video one I mentioned earlier, there is a spot to look at gas prices in your local area, BUT thats really just another ad for another app to work in conjunction to that. Also the small spot for the ads that are just above the category lists is not gonna go away, but they easily ignored, usually a Netflix ad. Overall this is a great app for the locals of the CNY area, and Id recommend it for anybody who likes to keep up with local news from Channel 9. The design is simple and easy to navigate through and is updated consistently. Channel 9 did a pretty good job working on this app!

Every time I open this app it tells me I have to download the app again, once I click download it brings me to my App Store and tells me to open app. Annoying glitche. Besides that the actual app is great..should have a section for obituaries though.

Update it for the iPhone 5

This app just gets worse and worse. Is it too much to ask that we have news stories that arent a week old on the app? After a week its not exactly news anymore.

Very accurate app, and I enjoy live stream videos, CNYs most accurate forecast, etc. Thanks for creating the app 9 WSYR!

Basketball scores are NOT breaking news. Stop being so irritating.

The stories need to be refreshed more often. Its the same stories 2 and 3 days in a row.

Good app for news. Best part was weather—especially predictive "future radar." But now its always showing radar for 3am/middle of the night instead of near future. This has been broken for almost 3 weeks. Wrote to the support email address but no reply. I will have to use other apps until this is fixed. :(

The quality on the live doppler 9 stream is almost unreadable! I can barely see the storms!!!! Please fix this first. Until this gets fixed Im switching to the CNY Central App

Its more of an interface with the website than an app. If I click on the videos or pictures it directs me to the webpage, which is a pain to view on an iPhone. Needs work.

This used to be a great app. Now it is confusing and poorly laid out. It is almost like they are trying to ruin this app on purpose.

This app was actually pretty good prior to the update. Now what was a clean and easy to use app is nothing more than a hard to read disaster. Why would you ruin a perfectly good app? The new black background makes it almost impossible to read an article. The Internet is not new but this developer must be - DARK BACKGROUNDS ARE BAD FOR THE EYES. This is seriously the worst app on my phone.

This WAS my go to app for weather and news. Not since the update. I typically welcome updates for apps as they usually enhance your experience. New layout is horrible.

This was a staple of day. I used this app multiple times a day for news and to keep an update on the weather at home since I work so far away and now I am lucky if the weather features update three times a week went three days without a change to the snow forecast map!!!! A retro update would be spectacular
